7 red lipsticks I love

best-red-lipsticks

After over one year of never not having red nail polish, I’m giving my nails a break and a chance to recover from at least 24 gel manicures (more on that in another post). I’m so used to that pop of red that I’ve found myself reaching instead for red lipstick most days. These are my favorites from a very extensive collection. Tony from Tom Ford’s Lips & Boys collection is the darkest of the bunch but still a very true, cool-toned red. Wander Beauty’s Parisian Red is the easiest way to wear a red lip — it’s a more sheer, buildable color and the most comfortable formula. The YSL 1 Le Rouge is a classic red with a satin finish, my preference. The mini Marc Jacobs was a Sephora VIB exclusive at one point but the formula is the same as this one. My drugstore pick is L’Oreal’s Blake’s Red, another classic shade. The only liquid lipstick I’ve tried and loved is this Stila Stay All Day! The mini above in shade Beso is available as a 100 point reward at Sephora right now. And lastly, a beautiful orangey red is Charlotte Tilbury’s Tell Laura from the Hot Lips collection. Clearly I can’t have enough red lipsticks so if I’m missing your favorite, let me know below!

Ted Baker pieces always have such great details like the ruffled trim on mine or the sharp collar on this dress. With a closet full of dresses, it’s those little details that make one stand out to me! It’s also one of my favorite silhouettes: a little loose through the body with a cropped sleeve and high hemline.

Today I’m teaming up with Piperlime to show you how to start working pieces for next season into your wardrobe now. Jackets are essential for transitioning your winter wardrobe to spring. Beyond your staple leather jackets, blazers or utility jackets though, a standout piece like this striped jacket is such a fun piece to have in the mix! The cropped silhouette makes it easy to dress up with a high waisted skirt but I chose to dress it down for a casual day at the office or on the weekend. To balance the boxy silhouette, I wore it with one of my favorite tissue tees, ripped skinny jeans and my new leopard pumps.
