7 red lipsticks I love

After over one year of never not having red nail polish, I’m giving my nails a break and a chance to recover from at least 24 gel manicures (more on that in another post). I’m so used to that pop of red that I’ve found myself reaching instead for red lipstick most days. These are my favorites from a very extensive collection. Tony from Tom Ford’s Lips & Boys collection is the darkest of the bunch but still a very true, cool-toned red. Wander Beauty’s Parisian Red is the easiest way to wear a red lip — it’s a more sheer, buildable color and the most comfortable formula. The YSL 1 Le Rouge is a classic red with a satin finish, my preference. The mini Marc Jacobs was a Sephora VIB exclusive at one point but the formula is the same as this one. My drugstore pick is L’Oreal’s Blake’s Red, another classic shade. The only liquid lipstick I’ve tried and loved is this Stila Stay All Day! The mini above in shade Beso is available as a 100 point reward at Sephora right now. And lastly, a beautiful orangey red is Charlotte Tilbury’s Tell Laura from the Hot Lips collection. Clearly I can’t have enough red lipsticks so if I’m missing your favorite, let me know below!

Each month I look forward to Byrdie’s report on new beauty launches to further fuel my obsession. With my winter skincare set, this is some of the new makeup I’m dying to try! One product I can never settle on is foundation. Despite being perfectly happy with my current foundation, I try more and more, always convinced there’s a better one out there. Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation instantly appealed to me because it sounds like you’ll be walking around all day looking like you’re lit by candles — the ultimate goal, no? The other product I’m collecting lately is highlighters so I can’t wait to try the Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder! I use mainly neutral and brown eyeshadows with a purple in the crease now and then — in other words, exactly the shades in Too Faced’s new Chocolate Bon Bons Palette. Tom Ford Lips & Boys in Drake is not only my new favorite shade, the formula is so crazy good that it makes spending $35 on a mini lipstick seem completely normal. This beautiful red Luciano is the next shade on my wish list.
