7 red lipsticks I love

After over one year of never not having red nail polish, I’m giving my nails a break and a chance to recover from at least 24 gel manicures (more on that in another post). I’m so used to that pop of red that I’ve found myself reaching instead for red lipstick most days. These are my favorites from a very extensive collection. Tony from Tom Ford’s Lips & Boys collection is the darkest of the bunch but still a very true, cool-toned red. Wander Beauty’s Parisian Red is the easiest way to wear a red lip — it’s a more sheer, buildable color and the most comfortable formula. The YSL 1 Le Rouge is a classic red with a satin finish, my preference. The mini Marc Jacobs was a Sephora VIB exclusive at one point but the formula is the same as this one. My drugstore pick is L’Oreal’s Blake’s Red, another classic shade. The only liquid lipstick I’ve tried and loved is this Stila Stay All Day! The mini above in shade Beso is available as a 100 point reward at Sephora right now. And lastly, a beautiful orangey red is Charlotte Tilbury’s Tell Laura from the Hot Lips collection. Clearly I can’t have enough red lipsticks so if I’m missing your favorite, let me know below!

holiday beauty gifts

This was my favorite gift guide to put together because beauty is, not surprisingly, my favorite thing to shop for! Beauty brands come out with the most creative, festive palettes and sets around the holidays that make the perfect indulgent gifts. The Bottle Service nail polish set and Le Grand Chateau house of palettes are the winners when it comes to pretty packaging! Limited edition palettes are hot commodities this time of year. Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Edit and Marc Jacobs’ Free Spirit eyeshadow palette are at the top of my wish list. I love that bareMineral’s has everything you need to touch-up your face makeup — it’s perfect for the friend who’s always on the go, as is Drybar’s Escape Plan set to touch-up hair! Diptyque’s 2015 holiday candles and Laura Mercier’s bath duet are great for anyone who needs to be pampered, which is everyone during the winter. Holiday beauty sets always have incredible value so it’s also a great time to purchase products you use regularly like these Kiehl’s hand salves or this beauty blender kit. I also find it’s a great time to discover new beauty favorites with sample sets like Sephora’s Superstar set of best-sellers or a collection of miniature perfumes so you can discover a signature fragrance. Let me know what beauty sets are on your list below!
