I’ve vowed to stop buying clothing that almost but not quite works for me. I’m sure you’ve been there — looking for a certain dress or pair of jeans and having to settle for a piece you don’t really love or one that would look better if this or that was changed. Piol is a completely different story and a few weeks back I was invited to test it out! It starts with Edith Head’s style guidelines — from finding your color aura (based on your skin, eye and hair color) to choosing the most flattering silhouette for your body shape and tweaking the fabric and details (neckline, sleeves, skirt length) to best suit you. It lets you design the perfect dress from start to finish with couture-like expertise throughout the process. I chose a draped dress with a short skirt for a feminine silhouette and added 3/4 sleeves. My color aura included this crimson print which I chose on a smooth Italian georgette material. My goal was a dress that was versatile but not boring and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! I’ve already worn it to weekend brunch with my friend Rose and to work and am sure it will be making a date-night debut soon.
