this face mask smells like candy

glow recipe watermelon sleeping mask review

The first thing you’ll notice about Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask is the millennial pink color. The second is that is smells exactly like a watermelon jolly rancher, which we all know is the best jolly rancher. It’s not sickly sweet, just fresh and enticing and absolutely perfect for summer. The texture is a slippery, bouncy gel that feels super refreshing and sinks right into the skin. The star ingredients are hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate, AHAs to refine pores and brighten and watermelon extract to sooth and soften. I’ve never used a product with watermelon extract before but if the girls behind Glow Recipe are putting it in their first product, I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes the next buzzy ingredient.

I like to use sleeping masks in place of a night cream a few nights a week. Unlike a typical face mask, sleeping masks don’t need to be washed off but just do their work boosting your (ideally) 6 or so hours of beauty sleep. And don’t worry about your sheets – the formula is pillow-proof! It didn’t leave a single mark on my silk pillowcase – another beauty sleep essential. After a tip from Felicia I discovered the best way to use this sleeping mask is after exfoliating or using a peel. My current favorites are the BEAUTYPIE Five Minute Facial and Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial – both will gently resurface skin so it’s primed and ready to drink up the sleeping mask. The result is a super soft, hydrated and glowing complexion by morning.
