The only thing more exciting than the launch of my Jetset & Protect face mask with Volition Beauty has been to see people using it out in the real world. It’s been a staple in my own carry-on bag since I had the first lab sample. Since then, I’ve used it on every trip whether it’s a 2 hour flight to Chicago or an 8 hour flight to Rome. Of course it’s near impossible to objectively review I product that I dreamed up and helped make a reality. Nevertheless, no more parched skin or pesky spots after long flights is proof that this in-flight face mask is truly everything I wanted it to be – hydrating, soothing, brightening, protecting and invisible. Try it out and let me know what you think here!

it cosmetics powder

It’s taken me years to find the perfect pressed powder. This is not it. It’s really close to being it with just one caveat that is, unfortunately, a dealbreaker. I’m talking about the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Poreless Finish Airbrush Pressed Powder and the dealbreaker is that it will take you about as long to read the product name as it will to hit pan. It’s otherwise a lovely setting powder – absolutely translucent, sets makeup so that it looks flawless and doesn’t fade, doubles as blotting powder, plus the formula is made with anti-aging ingredients. Truth be told, this is my third one and likely won’t be my last because it is quite good but the best pressed powder I’ve found is the Beauty Pie One Powder Wonder because it does everything this one does and lasts much, much longer.

By now we’re all diligently applying SPF every morning, right? Right. But that’s only effective for a couple of hours. Dermatologists recommend reapplying sunscreen every two hours which is easy enough if you’re makeup-free on vacation. But let’s say you’re out and about on a sunny weekend or heading to happy hour on a rooftop after a day at the office. Yes, you still need to reapply. Need I remind you that UV rays are the number one cause of premature aging?

This is where one of my favorite face mists comes in to play – Kate Somerville’s UncompliKated. It’s an incredibly fine makeup setting spray with SPF 50 that swiftly solves the problem of how to reapply sunscreen over makeup. The formula dries down quickly and has hyaluronic acid to provide refreshing hydration and silicone powders to create a soft focus effect. There’s no strong scent or greasy feeling left behind or build-up from applying a fresh layer every two hours.

My recommendation? Keep one in your everyday bag and one in your travel bag. No excuses!
