Having been stuck on the Naked palette for almost a year now, I was excited to switch it up and try out Charlotte Tilbury’s newly released Eyes to Mesmerise cream eyeshadows. What had me instantly hooked is how easy they are to apply — they are the perfect product for summer when you want a little makeup but don’t want to spend a ton of time doing it. They can be applied quickly with fingertips and you only need the smallest amount. Charlotte’s site explains more about the formula: it’s infused with water and vitamin E so it’s hydrating and smooth and has a soft-focus effect (I’ll try anything that says soft focus!) that she says can even be applied sans mirror. Win win!

The six shades are named after women who have dazzled the world with just a gaze and inspired Charlotte’s work. I chose to try Veruschka and Norma Jean. Veruschka is the more dramatic shade, a mossy golden color with shimmer. It goes on pretty sheer but can be layered a few times for a darker, smokey eye. I also noticed that the formula is really easy to blend out so if you accidentally apply too much, there’s no need to start over! With this one I liked applying it all over my lid then using what was left on my fingertip to sweep under my eye. On the other end, Norma Jean is a light champagne color that’s perfect if you want a subtle wash of color or to use as a shimmery base for more dramatic eye makeup. It’s my new favorite everyday shade — just this, a swipe of eyeliner and my new favorite mascara. You’ll also be glad to know the long-wear formulas came off easily with this micellar cleansing water!
