1 month on the road: my travel makeup routine

easy travel makeup routine

Last week I shared my travel skincare routine that got me through a month of traveling so I thought I’d continue with my makeup routine. My goal was to fit every product in this darling little makeup bag which meant no frivolous palettes and no dozens of tubes of lipstick at the bottom of every bag. The result was a routine I can do in 10 minutes plus a pot of shimmery shadow and pearly highlighter for the nights I wanted to step things up.

A pump of Becca’s First Light primer gives me the perfect dewy base to follow with a skin tone-evening layer of the Erborian BB cream – I’m on my third tube of each of these with no plans to stray from this routine! I dab a bit of NARS soft matte concealer on any spots and dust a layer of It Cosmetics pressed powder on top as I find the rest of my makeup blends much better this way. I literally touch my brush to this mini Hourglass ambient bronzer and that’s enough to warm up my complexion along with a sweep of an incredibly budget-friendly Catrice blush.

The Wander Beauty brow pencil makes it easy to quickly comb and fill in any sparse areas, then it’s a few coats of Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes mascara for fluttery lashes. A spritz of Pixi setting mist keeps my makeup looking fresh even on long days.

I would typically rely on no less than five lipsticks rolling around in whatever bag I was carrying that day but after realizing the majority of them were a classic red, I cleaned out and opted for one tube of NARS Jungle Red lipstick. For the nights I wanted a little more, I pressed Natasha Denona’s shimmery nude eyeshadow onto my lids with my fingertip and swept Burberry’s Fresh Glow highlighter in rose gold in a C shape from my brow bone along the tops of my cheekbones.
